As our patients are aware, we have kept our surgery running through the entire pandemic despite the extremely challenging time during the COVID-19 times. The restrictions have meant that face-to-face contact with patients has been limited in order to keep practice staff and patients safe.
We feel it is important that we are upfront with patients, so you understand the reality that we are all facing and the underlying reasons for this, and that, despite the easing of lockdown, the pressures experienced by the practice and the rest of the NHS are unlikely to ease soon. General practices will continue to struggle to meet the growing needs of patients. This isn’t the way we want it to be, but Redwood practice is open, and we are here for you when you need us.
Face-to-face contact has had to be limited across all NHS services to protect you and keep you safe from the risk of infection. We know that it’s been frustrating for some of you who have not always been able to book a face-to-face GP appointment. To keep you and everyone else safe appointments are being triaged, these initially will therefore be telephone consultations and if after being triaged you need you need to be seen face-to- face you will be informed and booked in.
We can’t meet this challenge, without more support.
